Hi, i have one Seat Leon MK1 with a Magneti Marelli ECU IAW4CV... car must be INMO1 beacouse it has separate inmobilizer box...VCDS has not communication with ECU now... customer tried to swap cluster but he not disconnected battery for the operation, and mayble acc was on, i dont know what he did really...... car did not start after that...he tried installing original cluster again but car dont start..immo light flashing in the cluster...
I did an autoscan and ecu is not detected...
What can be the problem? ecu by itself its damaged? I will try to connect ecu on bench for see if it is accesible or not...i'm looking for the correct pinout yet..

I found the pinout finally. Added to this message for your interest.
Ecu is accesible via obd and i can access to it with vcds.
It has a bunch of errors related with the ausence of the engine sensors, but there's an error related with Basic setting not performed..
I see in the vcds rosstech wiki that solution is to perform a Basic Setting procedure, but i have no idea of how to do it in that ecu... can somebody say to me how to do it please? THANKS

So now ecu can be diagnosed via obd2 from the car ??
no,you dont need a throttle body alignment...
usually when you have plenty of faults which relate to engine sensors it is power distribution to the ecu-issue,12v not good or a ground not fitted tight...

Hi, thanks for answering
I could not test ecu on car yet, i think i will have access to car later.
I connected on bench, and for that reason the sensors errors..
Strange thing is ecu was not accesible when installed in car and i fitted a 100A power supply but it could not be detected by vcds... but now is accesible on bench.
I said to customer battery need to be fully charged next time i go to work on car.. i will fit power supply again and i will see if it's accesible or not...

I dont know what the customer did  for having this problem really... he said to me that he tried to change cluster, and beacouse car did not start(logically beacouse cluster was not adapted) he tried installing original cluster again and car still not start after that...he said to me he did that operation by no disconnecting battery!

i think the customer is not telling the whole truth...
Unplugging and plugging again cluster in these old models just resets cluster,not causing immo issues though...

Yes, i think so...
I did not find any immo related fault in cluster,but immo light was flashing... I think maybe immo light is flashing beacouse ECU was not detected... Strange thing is why ECU was not detected on car but it is on bench....what can be the problem produced after customer clusters manipulation?
I will access to car tomorrow finally

Hi, i tried to read ecu on car but it still inaccesible
I checked voltage on the ecu connector and there's power in it, so ecu is receiving power.
I did an autoscan but only some modules are read... It did not read inmovilizer box, engine or abs modules... I can enter in the channel 25 inmovilizer but it is not showing any info related to it, and it show 'no DTC found or communication problem' message when try to read its fault codes...
What can be the problem? This car is drving me crazy
CAN gateway and Instruments show faults about no communication with ecu and airbag modules..
Airbag show fault about no communication with Instruments...
It seems a CAN issue related, but why engine ecu is not possible to read? It must be accesible for the k-line..is not? Strange thing is ecu is accesible via K-line on bench but not when installed on car...

if you direct wire obd pin7 to corresponding pin of ecu?i don't know much but i think cluster switch on obd 7 pin to k line to go inside the car
